Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Sunday said government should identify and punish the people responsible for burning the school buildings in the valley. “School buildings have been set on fire one after the other by the anti-social elements who are so far unidentified to create panic and ruin the future of our young generation,” said KCCI president, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani. “KCCI condemns the inimical forces bent upon causing harm to the society by burning schools or business establishments. Apart from loss of infrastructure worth crores of rupees, burning of schools will affect the psyche of our future generation. The government appears to have failed to provide security to schools,” he said. Meanwhile, Wani said the government’s demand of commercial tax payment is a “merciless” act. “How can the traders pay in such conditions? We all know what we are going through tough times. The government should not be so merciless in times of crisis,” he said.
